I had the privilege of attending Mobile World Congress 2025 in Barcelona🇪🇸, the most important global event in the telecommunications and mobile technology sector. This year, the dominant theme was undoubtedly Artificial Intelligence (AI), a topic that has recently filled every debate, often with excess and without real knowledge of the facts. But in Barcelona, AI was not just an abstract concept: it was tangible, concrete, and applied across multiple sectors with innovations that will change the way we live and work.
AI applied to reality: from farmers to bank consultants
AI is revolutionizing an incredible range of sectors, bringing efficiency and new opportunities. Here are some examples seen at MWC 2025:
Advanced systems equipped with AI and robotics enable automated fruit harvesting with millimeter precision. These intelligent robots are capable of assessing the degree of ripeness and picking only the ready fruit, reducing waste and increasing productivity.
AI is making the financial world faster and more efficient. Identity document verification and the KYC (Know Your Customer) process, which in the past required days and high costs, are now handled in seconds at zero cost, thanks to intelligent systems that analyze data and detect potential anomalies with unprecedented precision.
