In the digital age, downloading an app has become an almost daily ritual. But beware: behind the apparent "freeness" of some apps lie traps that could turn into unpleasant surprises for your bank account. We are talking about the notorious  **free trials**, often lasting 7 days, which convert into paid subscriptions if not deactivated in time. 

**A moment of distraction, a hefty bill:** how many times have we activated a free trial without carefully reading the terms? A distracted click and voilà—you find yourself with an unexpected charge on your credit card. It might seem trivial, but the risk is real and can weigh heavily on your budget. 

**How to avoid falling into the trap?** The keyword is  **attention**. Before activating any free trial, take the necessary time to scrupulously read the terms and conditions. Look for information regarding automatic renewal of the subscription and, above all,  **PAY ATTENTION** to the trial's expiration date. 

**The trick to enjoying the free trial in total peace of mind:** once the trial is activated, do not hesitate to go into the app settings and  **turn off automatic renewal**. This way, you can take advantage of the free days provided without the fear of finding an unwanted charge. 

**Why run this risk?** Apps that offer free trials do so for a very specific reason: to entice you to try the service, knowing that in the daily rush you might forget to deactivate the automatic renewal. But you, as an informed consumer, can make the difference. 

**Beyond deactivation, remember to:**

-   **Set a reminder on your calendar** for the free trial expiration date. 
-   **Use a prepaid card** to activate the trial, to limit the impact of any unwanted charges. 
-   **Read reviews** from other people who have used the app to get an idea of its actual utility and functionality. 

**Don't be afraid to be cautious.** In a digital world full of pitfalls, awareness and attention to detail are your best weapons to protect your wallet and enjoy a peaceful and secure digital experience. 

**Remember:** downloading an app should never turn into a nightmare for your finances. 

With a bit of attention and the right precautions, you can enjoy all the features the digital world offers without any nasty surprises.
